MAX Call Taking

Next Generation 9-1-1 Call Taking

MAX Call Taking is a Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) IP-based call handling solution engineered to maximize telecommunicator efficiency and reduce distractions. Built on Zetron’s legacy of reliability, it empowers emergency communication centers with rapid, informed, and coordinated response capabilities.

With seamless integration to other Zetron systems like MAX CAD/GIS, MAX Dispatch, and MAX Fire Station Alerting, MAX Call Taking forms part of a fully integrated command and control suite. It supports future scalability, technology migrations, and growth of PSAP operations.

Accurate Mobile Caller Location and Supplemental Data

Through integration with the RapidSOS Emergency Data Response Platform, PSAPs can securely access real-time, device-based hybrid location data and rich caller information—without requiring an app. This delivers faster, more accurate geolocation than traditional Phase 2 data, improving call handling and emergency response outcomes.

What’s New in MAX Call Taking 4.5

Status Board

The new Status Board provides real-time visibility into call queue status, wait times, and telecommunicator activity. Designed for large display panels, it supports multi-page cycling for enhanced situational awareness across the entire center.

Core Features of MAX Call Taking

NG9-1-1 i3 Standards Support

MAX Call Taking is fully compliant with existing and evolving NENA i3 standards, ensuring compatibility and readiness for current and future 9-1-1 requirements.

Automatic Call Distribution (ACD)

With built-in skills-based routing, MAX Call Taking intelligently assigns calls to the most qualified telecommunicator based on predefined roles and capabilities. Customizable call queues reduce transfers and enhance operational efficiency.

Optimized Call Handling Interface

Designed for performance, MAX Call Taking integrates workstation controls to enable faster, more accurate processing of emergency calls and texts. Features include selective data display, one-click operations, advanced mid-call recovery, and consistent UI/UX.

Integrated i3 Text-to-9-1-1 Support

Handle SMS Text-to-9-1-1 calls as intuitively as voice calls. Texts appear in the same format, ring, and can be answered, held, or transferred. Call takers can handle both text and voice simultaneously based on configuration settings.

Robust Telephony PBX Features

MAX Call Taking integrates office telephony systems into the 9-1-1 call workflow. Support includes auto-attendant, paging, intercom, conference calling, call parking, transfer, mute, hold, and more—enhancing internal communications and control.

GIS Map Viewer with ESRI Integration

Display 9-1-1 voice and text calls geospatially using ESRI-based local GIS data. Call takers can view and answer calls directly from the Map Viewer before answering. Supports real-time location updates and rebids for more precise mapping using both ALI and RapidSOS data.

RapidSOS Enhanced Location Services

RapidSOS integration provides advanced caller location data by leveraging multiple sensors—GPS, WiFi, cell towers, Bluetooth, and barometric pressure. Upon a 9-1-1 call, MAX Call Taking queries the NG9-1-1 Clearinghouse for device-level geolocation, supplementing standard ALI with highly accurate coordinates.
